Iran’s 11-month trade with Shanghai Cooperation Organization hits $32.7 billion

Iran’s trade with member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization stood at 48.9 million tons worth $32.71 billion in the 11 months to Feb. 19, 2022, registering a 41% and 31% year-on-year growth in weight and value, respectively.

Iran’s trade with member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization stood at 48.9 million tons worth $32.71 billion in the 11 months to Feb. 19, 2022, registering a 41% and 31% year-on-year growth in weight and value, respectively, according to the spokesman of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration. 

“Iran’s exports hit 40.64 million tons worth $18.3 billion, registering a 41% growth compared with the corresponding period of last year,” Rouhollah Latifi was also quoted as saying by IRNA.

China with $12.63 billion, Afghanistan with $1.66 billion, India with $1.63 billion, Pakistan with $1.13 billion and Russia with $439 million were the top five export destinations.

These were followed by Uzbekistan with $368 million, Kazakhstan with $165 million, Tajikistan with $79 million, Kyrgyzstan with $74 million, Belarus with $16 million and Mongolia with $483,000.

Top five exporters to Iran among SCO members were China with $11.11 billion, Russia with $1.45 billion, India with $1.38 billion, Pakistan with $252 million and Uzbekistan with $110 million.

They were followed by Kazakhstan with $56 million, Tajikistan with $31 million, Afghanistan with $18 million, Belarus with $10 million, Kyrgyzstan with $3 million and Mongolia with $2 million.
