Amir Salari said on Wednesday that the repair of the damaged pipeline in a depth of 60 meters under the sea is being carried out by a domestic contractor.

He added that Iran has also plans to replace the pipeline pumping gas from the offshore field to Siri Island with a new one within a while as the pipeline has been repaired for several times.

Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji said in February that his country enjoys high capacities and capabilities to supply gas to the European states.

The Iranian oil minister made the remarks on the sidelines of 6th Summit of Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) in the Qatari capital of Doha.

"During the sixth GECF summit, Iran has repeatedly announced that it has enjoyed the necessary capacity to supply gas to the neighboring countries and even Europe," Owji said.

He reiterated that despite high domestic consumption and gas exports, many of Iran's gas fields have remained untapped so far, but good exploration has been made in recent years.
