A passenger shipping line between Iran’s Bushehr and Qatar is scheduled to be launched as of Eid al-Fitr (May 2), according to a senior official with the Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran.
Hossein Abbasnejad was quoted as saying by ILNA news agency that some 3,000 seats are prepared to help transport passengers between Iranian and Qatari ports.
He added that the shipping line will be able to transport cars too.
His remarks comes few days after Iran and Qatar signed a number of documents on cooperation on World Cup 2022.
Abbasnejad said that a passenger line has resumed operating between Kuwait and Iran’s southwestern Port of Khorramshahr.
Underlining Iran’s plan for launching passenger shipping lines between Iranian southern ports, he said that launching lines between Omani ports and Iran’s Chabahar and Qeshm is also on the agenda.
