Annual foreign investment in Iran grows by 52%

The overall volume of foreign investment in Iran’s industry, mining and trade sector topped $3.7 billion over the past Iranian fiscal year (ended March 20) showing a 52.2% increase in comparison to figures from the preceding year.

The overall volume of foreign investment in Iran’s industry, mining and trade sector topped $3.7 billion over the past Iranian fiscal year (ended March 20) showing a 52.2% increase in comparison to figures from the preceding year.

The foreign investments made in Iran includes all forms of investments, including those for creating new projects, sales of the shares of the existing companies, as well as foreign investments in the form of contractual arrangements, according to a recent report by the Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade.  

Some 154 cases of foreign investment worth $3.758 billion has been made in Iran’s industry, mining and trade sector in the one-year period which shows a 2.5% decrease compared to the investments made in the preceding year.   

The report says that the number of foreign investments made in Iran a year earlier stood at 158 cases ($2.469 billion).
