Yerevan welcomes setting up Iranian auto production line in Armenia

Alireza Peimanpak, Head of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization and a Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, proposed setting up an Iranian auto production line in Armenia which was welcomed by his Armenian counterpart.  

During a meeting in Yerevan, the Iranian deputy minister said that an Iranian automaker is eager to produce cars in Armenia.

Peimanpak referred to Armenia’s membership in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), and said that such an auto production project could pave the way for auto exports to Eurasian markets and benefit both Iran and Armenia.

He also said that a major Iranian trade delegation is scheduled to visit Armenia simultaneous with launching an Iranian trade center in Yerevan in mid-October.

In the meantime, the Armenian official welcomed Iran’s proposal for launching an auto production line in the country, saying that his country is ready to allocate a proper land for construction of the site.

He also said that Armenia is eager to set up projects for joint production of home appliances with Iran.
