Saeed Pourabadi, the chairman of Iran’s provincial chamber of Bojnourd, said on Saturday that a trade delegation from the northeastern province of North Khorasan is scheduled to visit Turkmenistan on October 18.
He said that the visit to Turkmenistan by this delegation is aimed to increase the level of trade between Turkmenistan and the Iranian province of North Khorasan and to identify capacities for bilateral cooperation.
During their five-day stay in Turkmenistan, the Iranian businesspersons have plans to have a meeting with their Turkmen counterparts and pay a visit to Ashgabat Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Pourabadi said.
He noted that Turkmenistan is a good market for agricultural and constructional products of North Khorasan Province.
The Iranian province of North Khorasan has as long as 281 km of joint borders with Turkmenistan.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Turkmenistan’s President Serdar Berdimuhamedow after a meeting in Tehran in mid-June, Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi said that Tehran and Ashgabat are determined to sign a strategic document on cooperation for 20 years.
A large bulk of products from the province are exported to Central Asian countries, including Turkmenistan.
