Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (ICCIMA) and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FPCCI) have discussed ways to make a better use of an Islamabad-Tehran-Istanbul (ITI) Corridor to help expand bilateral trade.
During a recent visit to Pakistan by an Iranian private sector delegation, the two sides called for further activating of joint borders, providing customs services 24/7 on the joint borders of Mirjaveh and Taftan, making use of the digital TIR mechanism and further cooperation among TIR carnet guarantors and issuers of both countries to boost transport between the two countries.
Behman Faramarzian, the director of international transportation and TIR carnet department of Iran Chamber of Commerce, who was one of the members of the Iranian delegation to Pakistan, held meetings with his Pakistani counterpart and other transport officials of the neighboring country.
Referring to the restrictions of sanctions on Iran and the lack of proper banking interactions between Iran and Pakistan, Faramarzian said that barter trade is seen as a mechanism to help trade between the two sides.
He noted that the TIR carnet department of Iran Chamber of Commerce is ready to do its best in this regard.
Faramarzian said that the visit to Pakistan by the Iranian private sector delegation was successful, calling for the agreements to be further discussed in specialized commissions of the two sides.
