Commander of Khatam al-Anbiya Base Hossein Houshossadat said on Tuesday that the operator is active in the construction project of Caracas subway in Venezuela.
Speaking at a ceremony to mark the inauguration anniversary of Khatam al-Anbiya Base, he made the remarks with reference to extra-territorial activities of the base.
Khatam al-Anbiya base is the main Iranian operator which has also carried out projects overseas.
Noting that the overseas activities of the base are not very significant, Houshossadat said that the base has been carrying out construction projects in religious sites of Iraq.
He said that the base is rendering technical and engineering services to Venezuela and is also active in a subway construction project in the country.
He noted that negotiations are also underway for implementing oil projects in the Latin American country.
Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji issued a statement in mid-October announcing that a first oil refinery processing Iranian crude oil outside of the country had started operations in Venezuela.
Owji said that Iran had started processing some 100,000 barrels per day (bpd) of crude produced in Iranian oilfields in Venezuela's El Palito refinery.
