The board members of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (ICCIMA) have approved the permit for the launch of Iran-Japan Joint Chamber of Commerce.

The ICCIMA department for international affairs said that the interested businesspersons can submit their requests for membership in the founding general assembly of the joint chamber of commerce by January 10.

The date on which the founding general assembly is going convene will be announced later.

Chairman of Iran-Japan Joint Trade Committee Bahram Shakouri said last year that the volume of trade between Iran and Japan had been near zero.

“Part of our exports [to Japan] were oil which have stopped and non-oil exports don’t go beyond $37-38 billion,” Shakouri noted.

He believed that Iran and Japan can increase bilateral trade to more than $10 billion, particularly in mines and mining industries, tourism, water management, and environment.
