In its latest update, the International Monetary Fund announced Iran as the 22nd biggest world economy in 2022 among 193 countries under review, IRNA reported.
The IMF report put Iran’s gross domestic product in 2022 at $1,596 billion which is $141 billion more than that of the preceding year.
Iran’s economy passed behind strong economies like Pakistan, Thailand, Netherland, Argentina, Malaysia, South Africa, the UAE, Sweden, Austria, and Algeria although it is under tough Western sanctions for long years.
The IMF predicted Iran’s gross domestic product to rise another $95 billion to hit $1.691 in 2023.
China was announced the number one world economy in 2022 with $30,216 billion GDP followed by the United States which reported a GDP of $25,464 billion in the one-year time span.
