Iranian private sector actors exported as much as $10 billion worth of goods over the past calendar year to March 20, according to the head of the country’s Trade Promotion Organization (TPO).
Mehdi Zeighami made the remarks while addressing a meeting on Tuesday which mainly focused on cooperatives sector exports.
He said that the TPO is in charge of the country’s non-oil exports.
The official noted that one of the main objectives of the TPO is to find new markets for companies active in the area of exports of non-oil products.
Zeighami added that in non-oil exports, the organization’s focus is on private sector which he said exported as much as $10 billion worth of goods last year.
The official stressed that the organization is committed to reducing the costs of the private sector actors so as to facilitate their presence in the global markets.
