Official report puts Iran’s four-month foreign trade at $35.5 billion

Iran has exchanged as much as $35.5 billion worth of goods with different world countries in the first four months of the calendar year (March 21 – July 21), according to a recent report by the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Customs Administration (IRICA).

Iran has exchanged as much as $35.5 billion worth of goods with different world countries in the first four months of the calendar year (March 21 – July 21), according to a recent report by the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Customs Administration (IRICA).

The IRICA report suggests a nearly 8% decline in Iran’s trade compared to figures from last year’s corresponding period.

It said that Iran has exported some 45.75 million tons of goods in the mentioned period up 28.56% year-on-year.

The report added that some 11.84 million tons of goods worth $19.53 billion were also imported into Iran in the time span which shows a 6.18 and 10.82 percent growth in terms of tonnage and value, respectively.

China, Iraq, Turkiye, the UAE and India were the top five destinations for Iranian products accounting for 75% of the value and 76% of the weight of Iranian exports in the four-month period.

The UAE, China, Turkiye, India and Germany were also the top five countries exporting goods to Iran in the period under review.
