Iran’s nine-month pistachio exports to Europe at €67 million

The European Union has imported €67 million of fresh Iranian pistachios in the first nine months of 2023, according to recent data by the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat).

The European Union has imported €67 million of fresh Iranian pistachios in the first nine months of 2023, according to recent data by the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat).

The Eurostat statistics suggest that Iran exported €67 million worth of pistachios to the European Union from January to September 2023, including €49 million and €18 million of shelled and unshelled pistachios respectively.

Iran’s pistachio exports to the European Union in the nine-month period is down 29 percent year-on-year when compared to €95 million reported in the corresponding period of 2022, the Eurostat said.

According to this report, Iran was the second exporter of pistachios to Europe from January to September 2023 after the United States.

Germany was the first customer of Iranian pistachios in Europe in the first nine months of the current year, accounting for 70% of Iran’s total pistachio exports to the 27-nation bloc.
