The value of trade between Iran and the U.S. stood at $50.5 million in the first 11 months of 2023, registering a 12 percent rise compared to the previous year’s same period, Tasnim news agency reported citing the latest statistics released by the American Statistical Association (ASA).
The trade between the two countries was reported to be over $40.4 billion in the same period of 2022.
According to the ASA data, the U.S. exported commodities worth $48.9 million to Iran in the first 11 months of the previous year, up 21 percent year on year. The U.S. had exported $40.3 million of non-oil goods to Iran in January-November 2022.
Iran’s exports to the U.S., however, decreased by 85 percent to stand at $1.6 million during the mentioned period.
As reported, U.S. exports to Iran reached $6.1 million in November 2023, with a 30 percent growth compared to the same period last year. America's imports from Iran this month were also zero.
The amount of trade between Iran and America is not significant compared to the total trade of the two countries with the world. Iran ranks 173 among the export destinations of the United States and ranks 206 among the sources of supply of imported goods of this country.
