Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has appreciated the significant growth of Iranian private sector producers.
Addressing a large number of the Iranian top producers and economic actors in Tehran on Monday, the Supreme Leader said that the growth of Iranian private sector is very meaningful as it has occurred despite the sanctions against the country.
Ayatollah Khamenei believed that the Iranian private sector is able to help the country achieve its goal of an annual 8% growth in the next five-year development plan.
The Supreme Leader said that improving the business environment is among the main duties of the government, highlighting the role of the government in removing the obstacles. He added that in the same meeting a year ago he enumerated some of the main hurdles on the way of improving the business environment.
Underlining the need for government supervision over the private sector, Ayatollah Khamenei, however, noted that supervision is different from intervention.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Supreme Leader stressed the urgency of stopping the growth of liquidity, while noting that such policies would limit the central bank resources requiring the exercise of justice in allocating the resources to state and private sector.
