Iran’s private sector will have representatives in special committees to help the country’s president-elect choose his cabinet ministers.
President-elect Masoud Pezeshkian has assigned committees to help him choose cabinet ministers and heads of the organizations.
The country’s private sector will have a representative in each committee who will be proposed by Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (ICCIMA).
The president-elect has asked the committees to introduce 3 to 5 candidates for each post.
He has also called on the committee members to pay attention to the following issues:
a. At least 60% of the proposed candidates for taking charge of the ministries or organizations must be under 50 years old.
b. At least 60% of the proposed candidates must not have any record of being a minister.
c. At least 60% of the proposed candidates must be a member of that ministry or organization or be a governor general.
d. At least 20% of the proposed candidates must be women or ethnic minorities.
