President of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (ICCIMA) Samad Hassanzadeh has urged the president-elect Masoud Pezeshkian to prioritize improving the business environment and international relations.

The call on the president-elect came as Pezeshkian was visiting the country’s Chamber of Commerce on Saturday few days left to his inauguration.

Hassanzadeh hailed the president-elect’s visit to Iran Chamber of Commerce which is his first official visit after winning in the runoff election, what he said is a promising signal.

Mohammad Qassemi, the director of the ICCIMA Research Center, was another person to address the meeting.

He urged the need for forming a “private sector cabinet” simultaneous with the new president forming his cabinet so that the two cabinets will hold joint meetings monthly or every two or three months.

The new government must prioritize enhancement of foreign relations and improvement of economic diplomacy, he stressed.

Alireza kolahi, who chairs the ICCIMA Industry Commission, also addressed the meeting, proposing the president-elect to set out an industrial development plan with the participation of the private sector and using international experts.

He said that “regretfully, today, Iran has no place in the global chain, even in the energy sector”.

No sustainable productive activity is possible in the absence of stability, he added.

Pezeshkian defeated his rival Saeed Jalili in a runoff presidential election on July 5 to replace the late President Ebrahim Raisi who died in a helicopter crash in May.

He has repeatedly said that he intends to make use of the potentials of the private sector. Pezeshkian paid another visit to the chamber of commerce during his presidential campaign on June 24.

Iran’s private sector even has representatives in special committees to help the president-elect choose his cabinet ministers.

Pezeshkian has assigned committees to help him choose cabinet ministers and heads of the organizations.

The country’s private sector has been decided to have a representative in each committee who will be proposed by Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (ICCIMA).

The president-elect has asked the committees to introduce 3 to 5 candidates for each post.
