Kyrgyzstan has doubled its imports of fresh fruits from Iran in the first nine months of 2024 compared to the same period last year, IRNA reported on Monday, citing a report by the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic (NSC).

The country imported 2,200 tons of fresh fruits from Iran, worth $1.5 million, during this period. This marks a significant increase from the 1,200 tons valued at $746,000 imported in the corresponding period of 2023.

The report highlighted Iran as the leading exporter of fruits to Kyrgyzstan, with Uzbekistan ranking second.

Additionally, the NSC noted a 24% decline in Kyrgyzstan’s imports of grapes and raisins from China.

The surge in Iranian fruit imports underscores the strengthening trade ties between the two nations and the growing demand for Iranian products in Kyrgyzstan.
