The Iranian ambassador to Portugal, Majid Tafreshi, announced efforts to establish a joint Iran-Portugal Chamber of Commerce and a Friendship Group between the two nations, signaling a push to enhance bilateral economic and diplomatic relations.
Tafreshi highlighted Portugal’s advantages, including affordable land and labor and a bureaucracy-free environment, making it an attractive destination for trade. He emphasized the importance of mutual cooperation in sectors such as agriculture, automobile and bus manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and food industries.
The ambassador also noted that obtaining administrative and business visas for Portugal is relatively straightforward compared to other types of visas. He encouraged Iranian economic actors to take advantage of this opportunity to strengthen ties between the two countries.
The initiative reflects Iran’s broader efforts to diversify its international trade partnerships.
