Iran’s Oil Minister said on Sunday that US efforts to bring the country’s crude exports to zero have failed and will never be achieved, in response to recent comments by US President Donald Trump about increasing pressure on Tehran.

“The maximum pressure policy and the rhetoric of reducing Iran’s oil exports to zero is a failed policy,” Mohsen Paknejad said in a televised interview.

He emphasized that Iran would continue to counter such measures. “If they try to enforce this policy again, they will fail once more as we will take the necessary measures based on the circumstances, and all our oil industry workers involved in exports will operate at full capacity,” he added.

“The greater the restrictions, the more complex our strategies will become,” Paknejad said.

The United States has imposed extensive sanctions on Iran’s energy sector in recent years, aiming to curb the country’s oil revenues. However, Iran has repeatedly stated that it has found ways to maintain exports despite the restrictions.
