Iran’s unemployment rate for the third quarter of the country’s calendar year (September 22 – December 21, 2024) has been reported at 7.2%, showing a 0.4% decline compared to that of last year’s corresponding period.
According to a Monday report by the Statistical Center of Iran (SCI), the figure also reflects a 0.3% improvement from the jobless rate of the previous quarter.
Unemployment among men was reported at 5.9% in this period, an improvement of 0.2% from 6.1% in the previous quarter. The unemployment rate among women has also improved from last quarter’s 14.2% to settle at 13.7%.
The improvements in the index cover both the rural and urban areas of the country.
