A high-level Iranian economic delegation will accompany President Masoud Pezeshkian on an official visit to Azerbaijan on April 27, according to Hossein Pirmoazzen, Vice President of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA).
He said that the visit by Iranian delegation aims to strengthen economic diplomacy and prepare the groundwork for future agreements and bilateral cooperation.
Pirmoazzen stressed that bolstering economic ties with neighboring countries remains a strategic priority for Tehran.
"A 120-member delegation, including private sector representatives and members of the Iran-Azerbaijan Parliamentary Friendship Group, along with four provincial governors from northwestern Iran, will travel to Baku," Pirmoazzen said.
He emphasized the importance of reopening the Astara and Bileh Savar border crossings for overland transport between the two countries. "This reopening, along with the launch of a dry port-based transit bridge between Iran and Azerbaijan, will be central to the discussions during the visit," he added.
Pirmoazzen also highlighted Iran Expo 2025, set to open in Tehran within the next few days, as a major platform to showcase the country's economic potential. "The exhibition will offer a golden opportunity to present Iran’s capabilities and promote face-to-face dialogue with international business players," he said, noting the Chamber of Commerce’s active participation in the event to support export growth.
