The 39th meeting of the board of directors of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development opened in Amman on Sunday, bringing together the heads of chambers of commerce from 18 countries.
The gathering, attended by Samad Hassanzadeh, president of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture, alongside his counterparts from 17 other nations, is expected to focus on expanding trade, investment and cooperation among Islamic countries.
The Islamic Chamber’s board comprises chambers of commerce from Azerbaijan, Chad, Djibouti, Guinea, Iran, Ivory Coast, Jordan, Kuwait, Mauritania, Niger, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, Turkey, Sudan and the United Arab Emirates, with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) secretariat participating as an observer. Under the chamber’s statutes, the board convenes twice a year.
