The combined output of Iran’s three largest car manufacturers fell 12% in the first half of the current Iranian year compared to the same period last year, official figures showed.
Iran Khodro, SAIPA and Pars Khodro together produced 404,461 vehicles from late March to late September, down from 460,763 units in the same period a year earlier – a decline of 56,122 vehicles.
While SAIPA and Pars Khodro recorded lower production levels, Iran Khodro, the country’s leading carmaker, reported an 8.8% rise in output during the six-month period, the data indicated.
