A senior Iranian business leader said sharp rises in the foreign exchange rate are preventing timely imports of raw materials for domestic industries.
“We cannot procure raw materials on time. We must find a solution for this together,” said Mohammad Reza Bahraman, Vice President of Iran Chamber of Commerce.
Speaking at a meeting of Yazd Chamber of Commerce, Bahraman also called for the economy to have a greater say in state policymaking. He argued the private sector should play a role in international relations, stating, “Our economic ties could be the country’s salvation.”
