Iran’s Minister of Road and Urban Development Rostam Qasemi said that Kyrgyzstan can serve as Iran’s transit corridor to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization region.
The final report for the Field Studies of the Kyrgyz-Tajikistan-Afghanistan-Iran (KTAI) road corridor has been published jointly by the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and the International Road Transport Union (IRU).
The KTAI corridor, which has recently been launched following the first successful TIR pilot operation from Shahid Rajaee Port in the southern Hormozgan Province to Kyrgyzstan, offers a shorter route from Iran to Central Asia.
