Iran ready to increase Asia’s economic growth in cooperation with regional states

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani says his country is prepared to incentivise foreign investment as well as help raise the Asian well-being and life quality.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani says his country is prepared to incentivise foreign investment as well as help raise the Asian well-being and life quality.

Iran says it’s ready to cooperate with Asian countries to increase their the continent’s economic growth.

“We as a country that is located in the juncture of North-South, East-West trade corridors that has strong industrial and technological infrastructure with educated human resources. Our country with big opportunities in energy, mining, tourism and transit welcomes with open arms businessmen and women as well as the companies and firms of the member states,” said Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Saturday, addressing the 5th Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in the Tajik capital Dushanbe.

Rouhani also stressed that Iranian construction and industrial companies as well as businessmen and women are prepared to take part in development projects of the Asian countries.

There are 26 member states in CICA, including Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Egypt, India, Iran and Iraq, among others.

The Iranian president attended the summit after taking part in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in the Kyrgyz capital Bishkek, where he had stressed the same idea that Iran is prepared to offer incentives to regional businesses.

Rouhani stressed that Asian countries need to pursue regional policies such as creation of a joint market of trade, energy and tourism as well as building strong infrastructure such as good roads and railways “in a bid to increase the wellbeing and life quality of their own people and that of the region”.
