Iran Air has resumed flights to Sweden’s second largest city, Gothenburg, following resumption of its flights to the capital city of Stockholm.
Iranian flag carrier’s flights from Tehran to Gothenberg resumed today and will be operated on Tuesdays every week from Imam Khomeini International Airport (IKA) to Gothenburg-Landvetter Airport.
On January 10, the Swedish Transport Agency temporarily withdraw the traffic permit of Iran Air for flights between Sweden and Iran, citing "unclarity" around the accidental shooting down of a passenger airplane over Iran on January 8 and "safety for civilian air traffic". Three weeks later, Sweden gave Iran Air green light to resume flights.
Tehran-Stockholm flights were re-launched on February 15 and are operated on Saturdays and Wednesdays every week from Imam Khomeini International Airport to Stockholm’s Arlanda Airport.
Iran Air, also known as Homa, is the only airline that flies directly between Sweden and Iran.
