Major growth in Iran’s one-month exports of steel ingots

Iran exported some 1 million tons of steel products, the lion share of which is the exports of steel ingot, according to the latest statistics by the Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA).

Iran exported some 1 million tons of steel products, the lion share of which is the exports of steel ingot, according to the latest statistics by the Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA).

The report puts Iran’s exports of steel ingots (slab, bloom, and billet) at 633,000 tons in the one-month period which shows a 74% increase in comparison to 366,000 tons of exports of ingots in last year’s corresponding period.

The report also added that Iran neither exported nor imported sponge iron during the period under review.

Iran’s exports of long bars of steel hit 157,000 tons in the period posting a 34% decline year-on-year as the country had exported some 238,000 tons of these products in the same period last year.

The country also exported some 27,000 tons of flat bars in the one-month period which shows a 4% decrease in comparison to last year’s corresponding period (26,000 tons).
