Iran has exported over 35.54 million tons worth $9.98 billion of mining products in the first nine months of the Iranian calendar year (March 21 – December 21), according to a recent report by Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation, known as IMIDRO.

The IMIDRO report says that Iran’s exports of mining products show a 5% YOY growth in terms of weight while declining by 2% in terms of value compared to figures from last year’s corresponding period.

The report noted that declining global prices are responsible for the fall in the value of Iranian exports of mining products this year.

With some $4.883 billion of exports, the steel chain and steel products account for the lion’s share of Iran’s exports of mining products.

Copper chain and aluminum chain with $1.118 billion and $854 million worth of exports fall second and third respectively following the steel chain.

Iran has also imported 3.198 million tons worth $3.544 billion of mining products in nine-month period under review.
