The 5th Export Potential Exhibition of the Islamic Republic of Iran (Iran Expo 2023) officially opened in a ceremony participated by President Ebrahim Raeisi in the Iranian capital on Sunday.
Addressing the opening ceremony, President Raeisi said that more than 1,000 businesspeople, economic activists and officials from different world countries are scheduled to visit the event.
The president noted that today the Iranian products are competing with their equivalents made in highly developed countries.
The Iranian government has taken useful measures in the area of health and pharmaceutical equipment, the president said, adding that some 95% of the country’s medical needs are now produced domestically and are also being exported to other nations.
He said that the Iranian government has set a 40-year record exporting over $50 billion worth of commodities since August 2021 when the new government came into power.
Iran Expo 2023 will run until May 10 with 750 domestic companies and representatives from 60 foreign countries participating the event.
The UAE, Pakistan, Russia, Turkey and China are among the countries taking part in the exhibition putting their products on display in different industrial, medical and petrochemical areas as well as home appliances and food industries.
