Some 40 Iranian trade centers are operating in different target countries, according to a new report by the country’s Trade Promotion Organization (TPO).

The TPO data says that Iran also plans to launch two new trade centers in other countries in the near future.

Underlining the significance of commercial attachés in trade ties between countries, the TPO report said that Iran currently has as few as 17 commercial attachés in different countries with the number expected to grow to 30 by the end of the current calendar year to March 20, 2024.

Iran will appoint a commercial attaché in the UAE next week and two other ones will also be dispatched to Brazil and Uzbekistan in the near future, with other Iranian commercial attachés also expected to start their missions in Indonesia, the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, Shanghai, Nigeria, and East Europe countries such as Poland and Serbia, the report added.

Appointing a commercial attaché to Saudi Arabia is also on the agenda of Iran’s Foreign Ministry, it said.
