President of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (ICCIMA) has stressed the need to explore new avenues for financial exchanges between Iran and Bulgaria.
Hossein Selahvarzi made the remarks in a meeting in Tehran on Monday with Bulgarian Ambassador to Iran Nikolina Kuneva.
Noting that there are many grounds for cooperation with other countries on non-sanctioned areas, the Iran Chamber of Commerce president said that “we need to find innovative ways for financial and banking exchanges and new settlement mechanisms.”
Transportation is one of the main areas for cooperation between Iran and Bulgaria, Selahvarzi said, underlining the position of Iran Chamber of Commerce as an IRU member and the largest world issuer of TIR carnets.
He also extended an invitation to the president of Bulgaria Chamber of Commerce to visit Tehran, adding that holding a webinar for the businesspeople of both Iran and Bulgaria will help them get more familiar with the investment chances.
The Bulgarian ambassador, for her part, said that lack of knowledge about the trade potentials of Iran and Bulgaria is the main obstacle to economic exchanges between the two countries.
Ambassador Kuneva urged the need for creating direct ties between the private sectors of Iran and Bulgaria.
She highlighted the eagerness of the Bulgarian businesses for cooperation with Iranian companies, and said that accurate matchmaking is of special significance in the dispatch of business delegations which doubles the role of the chambers of commerce.
