If export barriers are removed, Iran’s export of non-oil products to neighboring Iraq will reach $11 billion by the end of the current Iranian calendar year to March 20, 2024, the chairman of Iran-Iraq Joint Chamber of Commerce said.
Yahya Al-e Eshaq said that the country’s export of non-oil products to Iraq registered about 30 percent growth in the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year compared to last year’s corresponding period.
He called on responsible officials to take effective steps to remove trade barriers that exist between the two countries.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Al-e Eshaq referred to the necessity of making joint investments with Iraq and urged both the private and public sectors to plan for launching joint investments with this country to spur economic activities.
Currently, Iran’s export of products to Iraq is on the growth trajectory but it seems necessary to remove trade barriers between the two countries in line with enhancing bilateral trade, he added.
