The 13 refineries of Iran’s South Pars Gas Field are earning some $130 million daily, according to an official with Bushehr Governorate in southern Iran.

Zargham Heidariyeh told reporters on Tuesday that some 13 refineries with 29 platforms and 336 wells are currently operating at the Pars Special Economic Energy Zone.

He said that more than 705 million cubic meters a day (mcm/d) of gas are being produced in this field.

The official added that each refinery produces some 50 mcm/d of sweet gas and 77,000 barrels of gas condensates as well as other products such as sulfur, butane and propane.

Each refinery earns some $10 million a day which amounts to $3.5 billion annually, he said.

The official noted that some 70 million tons of petrochemicals are produced in Iran annually, 50% of which is the share of Bushehr Province.
