Mohammad-Hadi Sobhaninia made the remarks as he appeared before the parliament on Monday to answer the questions by the lawmakers on the government’s taxing policy in the next year’s budget bill.

He said that the new budget bill is focused on reducing tax pressure on the ordinary people and take more taxes from major companies and economic holdings.

Elaborating an article in the budget bill which requires taking a 1% more value-added tax (VAT), the official stressed that this slight increase will not impose any pressure on the ordinary people and rather targets the rich and high consumers of the society.
