Iran’s Ambassador to Iraq Mohammad-Kazem Al-Sadeq says the country has resumed normal gas exports to Iraq.

Noting that there is an agreement in place between Tehran and Baghdad for pumping some 40 to 50 million cubic meters a day (mcm/d) of Iranian gas to Iraq, he said that Iran has always been supporting energy supplies to Iraq, either by gas exports or the exports of electricity to the country.

The ambassador said that the Iranian gas pipeline to Iraq had underwent an overhaul operation and is now back to the stream again.

He stressed that Iran’s gas exports to Iraq will witness a rise in the summer.
