Iran’s headline inflation drops 1.9% in month to late April

A recent report by the Statistical Center of Iran (SCI) suggests that the country’s year-on-year inflation has declined by 1.9% year-on-year in the calendar month to late April.

A recent report by the Statistical Center of Iran (SCI) suggests that the country’s year-on-year inflation has declined by 1.9% year-on-year in the calendar month to late April.

Updating the price index for goods and consumer services, the report said that inflation averaged 38.8 percent over the 12 months through April 19.

The report also said that the prices rose 30.9 percent in the month to April 19 compared to the same month a year earlier. The figure was down 1.4 percent from 32.3 percent inflation in the month to March 19.

The CBI report put the country’s month-on-month inflation at 2.6 percent.
