Iran’s First Vice President, Mohammadreza Aref, has commended the country’s private sector for its consistent support of the government and the people, particularly highlighting its role in the distribution of essential goods during the 12-day Israeli invasion in June.

Speaking at a market regulation headquarters meeting on Wednesday, Aref stated, “The private sector, with its empathy and solidarity, has always been a supporter of the system and the people, especially in recent months.” He added, “With the help of the private sector, which was tasked with distributing essential goods, we have had a good situation in supplying the people's needed commodities.”

The meeting was attended by the ministers of industry, mine and trade, justice, agriculture, labor and social welfare, the government spokesperson, the central bank governor, the president’s executive deputy, and other relevant officials.

Aref noted that numerous meetings had been held with private sector representatives. He emphasized that despite their own challenges and grievances, the private sector had performed well and stepped up to the plate in supplying essential goods, especially during the Israeli-imposed war.
