Iran launches trade center in Damascus

An Iranian trade center was launched in Damascus on Tuesday at the same time that a high-ranking delegation from Iran is on a visit to the Syrian capital.

An Iranian trade center was launched in Damascus on Tuesday at the same time that a high-ranking delegation from Iran is on a visit to the Syrian capital.

An Iranian trade center was launched in Damascus on Tuesday at the same time that a high-ranking delegation from Iran is on a visit to the Syrian capital.

The opening ceremony of the trade center was participated by President of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (ICCIMA) Gholam Hossein Shafei, Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Reza Fatemi Amin, and the Chairman of Iran-Syria Joint Chamber of Commerce Keyvan Kashefi.

Speaking during the ceremony, the Iran Chamber chief said that the inauguration of Iran trade center in Syria provides a chance for enhancement of economic relations and increase of trade exchanges between the two countries.  

Shafei said that this center will monitor the economic activities in Syria and provides the Syrian traders and industrialists with the needed information about Iranian companies.  

He also noted that the center would be a place for imports, exports and marketing which is of special significance for expansion of economic relations between the two countries.

Iranian minister of industry also addressed the ceremony and said that the volume of trade between Iran and Syria has grown to $3 billion.

Fatemi Amin said that negotiations are underway between the two sides to increase joint investments and exchange experiences so as to help Syria in the post-crisis era.  

Also, an exhibition of Iranian products opened in Damascus on Monday with participation of 164 companies.
