Iran’s trade with member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, excluding oil exports, reached 39.07 million tons worth over $24.75 billion in the first six months of the current fiscal year (March 21-Sept. 22).
the figures register an 18.45% decline in weight, but a 7.46% growth in value year-on-year, latest data released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration show.
The UAE with 10.92 million tons worth over $10.31 billion was Iran’s top trade partner among OIC member states, registering a 6.9% decline in weight, but an 8.06% growth in terms of value.
It was followed by Turkey with more than 5.49 million tons (down 41.07%) worth $5.3 billion (up 11.87%) and Iraq with over 9.93 million tons (down 33.33%) worth $3.47 billion (down 19.98%).
Iranian exports reached 30.84 million tons worth $13.2 billion during the six-month period, registering a 17.99% decline in weight, but a 10.76% increase in value compared with the same period of last year.
Iraq with 9.86 million tons (down 28.95%) worth $3.38 billion (down 11.92%) was the top export destination during the period.
It was followed by the UAE with 5.72 million tons (down 1.6%) worth $3.11 billion (up 38.72%) and Turkey with 4.1 million tons (down 43.08%) worth over $2.62 million (up 13.77%).
Imports stood at 8.22 million tons worth $11.55 billion to register a 20.14% decline in weight, but a 3.92% growth in value year-on-year.
The UAE with 5.2 million tons (down 12.11%) worth $7.2 billion (down 1.35%) was the top exporter to Iran during the period.
Turkey with 1.39 million tons (down 34.23%) worth $2.68 billion (up 10.06%) and Pakistan with 454,576 tons (up 279.33%) worth $493.91 million (up 350.15%) came next.
