China remains top importer of Iranian products: Official report

The latest figures released by the Customs Administration of Iran (IRICA) suggest that China remained the number one importer of the Iranian commodities in ten months to January 20.

The latest figures released by the Customs Administration of Iran (IRICA) suggest that China was the number one importer of the Iranian commodities in ten months to January 20.

According to the IRICA report, Iran has exported over 97.834 million tons worth $43.87 billion of commodities in the period under review.

The figures show that Iran’s exports have risen by 2.86% in terms of weight and 19.06% in value terms compared to figures from last year’s corresponding period.  

Although Iran’s export commodities were destined for 145 different world countries, over 86% of the country’s exports were sent to 10 nations – namely China, Iraq, Turkey, the UAE, India, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Oman, Indonesia, and Russia.

China, with over $11.854 billion of imports from Iran, has been the number one importer of Iranian commodities, with a 27.51% share of the country’s aggregate exports.   

China is followed by Iraq, Turkey and the UAE as the second to fourth main importers of the Iranian commodities with a respective 20.03%, 14.90% and 10.68% share of the country’s exports.
