The World Steel Association (worldsteel) in its latest report has announced that Iran’s steel output hiked by 1.1 percent in the first eight months of 2023 when compared to the same period of 2022.
The worldsteel figures showed that Iran produced 19.7 million metric tons (mt) of crude steel in January-August.
Iran was ranked 10th among the world’s top steel producers during the period under review.
Iran’s monthly crude steel output stood at 1.6 million mt in August, indicating a decrease of 24.1 percent compared to that of August 2022.
The country is expected to climb to seventh place among the world’s top steel producers by March 2025.
