A direct flight between Kerman in southern Iran and Dubai, the UAE, has begun operating after a nine-year interval.
The re-launch of the flight followed the efforts of local officials in the second edition of an investment and development conference titled "Kerman IDEX 2024" in the province in mid-May.
The flight which used to be provided by an Iranian domestic airline, will be launched this time by Fly Dubai.
The re-launch of the flight is seen as a big achievement for Kerman as it ensures the province’s access to 110 countries and 150 airports across the world.
The flight is scheduled to operate twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays.
The direct flight between Kerman and Dubai will help promote Kerman’s tourism industry, Mehdi Tabibzadeh, the chairman of Kerman Chamber of Commerce, said during a ceremony for the re-launch of the flight.
He noted that it was a point of weakness for Kerman that it had no place in the world tour programs.
