Official report puts Iran’s three-month economic growth at 4.6%

Iran’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 4.6% in the first quarter of the Iranian calendar year (March 21 – June 21), according to a recent report by the Statistical Center of Iran (SCI).

Iran’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 4.6% in the first quarter of the Iranian calendar year (March 21 – June 21), according to a recent report by the Statistical Center of Iran (SCI).

The report put Iran’s GDP in the three-month period at 24.177 trillion rials (equivalent to 39.37 billion US dollar at the Iranian free market rates), up 4.6% compared to 23.121 trillion rials reported in the corresponding period of last year.

It said that the Iranian non-oil GDP has also marked a 2.8% growth in the period under study.   

In the three months, activities in the area of agricultural sector made a 2.3% growth, those in the area of industry and mining sector grew by 5.8% and the group of services witnessed a 3.1% growth.
