The Vice President of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Mohammad Reza Bahraman, has underlined the need to supply essential goods as the country faces a US-Israeli-imposed war that has caused restrictions for southern ports.
Bahraman made the remarks on the sidelines of a meeting held at the Iran Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday which brought together a number of Iranian members of parliament and private sector representatives active in maritime transportation.
Noting that some 70% of Iran’s maritime transportation is carried out by the private sector, he said that southern ports account for 75 to 80 percent of the country’s total transportation.
He added that during the meeting, lawmakers and private sector operators explored ways to utilize all available potentials to ensure the supply of essential goods into the country.
