Iran-Bulgaria Joint Committee of Commerce said that Bulgaria could play a key role in facilitating trade between Iran, Europe and other countries amid a maritime blockade affecting Iran’s southern ports.
In a statement on Saturday, the committee highlighted the importance of using alternative transportation and logistics capacities under the current conditions, adding that Bulgaria possesses suitable transport and logistics infrastructure that could help ease trade flows.
“The Joint Committee of Commerce of Iran and Bulgaria announces that Bulgaria, by virtue of its adequate transportation and logistics capacities and facilities, can play an important role in facilitating the movement of export and import goods between Iran, Europe and other countries,” the statement said.
The committee added that it was prepared to coordinate efforts aimed at utilizing these capacities and to cooperate with economic actors and relevant sectors in order to facilitate trade relations between Iran and Europe.
