Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has stressed that in order for the country to get out of the current situation, an economic surgery is needed.

The president made the remarks in a meeting with the private sector actors of the northeastern province of Khorasan Razavi which took place as part of a visit to the province.

While highlighting the need for an economic surgery in some sections, Pezeshkian however emphasized that before any intervention, the vulnerable class of the society has to be taken into account.

Iran’s newly-elected president who had pledged making use of the potentials of the private sector during his campaign, once again vowed to pave the way for facilitating the activities of businesspeople, industrialists and manufacturers.

He said that his administration will activate the potentials of the foreign ministry and the country’s joint chambers of commerce to expedite Iran’s foreign trade through interaction with different countries.

The president renewed his support for the private sector actors and manufacturers, noting that his administration is determined to remove the obstacles facing the economic activists and will spare no effort to this end.

He also thanked the members of parliament for a vote of confidence to “the cabinet of national reconciliation” when all the ministerial nominees were approved in an August 21 voting, calling for further cooperation between the government and the parliament to help solve the problems of the country.
